A-Z Animals by Julie Eastman
Julie paints in watercolor and acrylics. She has taught art courses for many years in local art centers and has held solo exhibits around Raleigh and Chapel Hill. As a member of the Orange County Artists Guild for ten years, she took part in the Guild's studio tour each year, opening up her studio and displaying current work to the community. Julie is now retired from teaching but continues to paint. She lives with her husband Mike Sollins in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
"In this series of alphabet animal prints I have used a combination of acrylic paints, rollers, stencils and brushes. Cutting stencils is a fascinating and enjoyable process, and a different stencil needs to be cut for each layer of color. Each animal took time to develop, and I often added brushwork for finishing touches."
Join us for an artist reception during the 2nd Friday ArtWalk, Friday, May 10th from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Meet the artist and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
